XO Communications

Data Sales Engineer

After completing my certificate in Network Design at DU, I took a techinical sales position in the Denver, CO market's sales office at XO.  I supported the account executives, initially on a small team of 8 but later the entire market, on all data and non-switched services.  My own performance was regularly well over 150% of quota. Our product suite grew during my tenure to include fractional and full T-1 and larger internet connections, direct data circuits, central office and data center collocation of equipment, managed data center services, metro wide Ethernet LAN, and the basics such as DSL and web hosting.

In addition to consulting on client solutions, I was responsible for in-house product training and held regular brown bags on a variety of technology topics.  I also took the lead on troubleshooting order provisioning through the regional offices with counterparts in provisioning and customer service.

Cruttendon Roth

Assistant Analyst

Located in the Seattle branch office, I worked with a team of financial analysts who covered the sectors involved in high tech.  My primary duty was to produce reporting on industry specific technologies in telecommunications and networking.

AT&T GBCS

Account Executive

Back then it was called AT&T Global Business Communications Systems, then the Lucent divesture, followed by the Avaya spin-off, but essentially I sold Avaya's voice and data networking products, first to small business customers and later to the smaller end of the enterprise market.  Primarily phone sytems, we were also just getting into multiplexing voice and data circuits--this was all prior to the Internet boom of the late 90's.  A strong seller, I was known in the market for my candid, honest, and ethical approach to problem solving and prided myself on my many satisfied customers and still managed to perform at nearly 125% of quota.
